El SCCS estableció en este addendum que Hexyl Salicylate es seguro para niños menores de 3 años al 0.1% en la mayoría de productos dérmicos y al 0.001% en pasta dental. El comité alerta sobre niños con piel dañada (mayor absorción) y sobre posible presencia de Salicylic Acid como impureza (prohibida en niños <3 años). Si tu empresa formula con Hexyl Salicylate en productos infantiles, revisá que las concentraciones estén dentro de estos límites y que la pasta dental sea ≤0.001%. También verificá que Salicylic Acid esté en nivel técnicamente inevitable.

El SCCS (SCCS/1658/23) considera al Hexil Salicilato seguro a concentraciones máximas específicas por tipo de producto: 2% en fragancias hidroalcohólicas, 0,5% en rinse-off, 0,3% en leave-on y 0,001% en cuidado oral. Esta evaluación se realizó en el contexto de la clasificación pendiente como CMR Cat. 2 bajo el Reglamento CLP. La sustancia actualmente no está en los Anexos del Reglamento 1223/2009, por lo que la Comisión deberá adoptar restricciones formales con estos límites. Las empresas que usen Hexil Salicilato en sus fragancias deben verificar que las concentraciones de uso cumplan con los límites indicados, y estar atentas a la publicación del acto regulatorio que formalice su inclusión en el Anexo III.
