Cosmetic products containing that substance that do not comply with the conditions may, provided that they comply with the conditions applicable on 23 April 2024, be placed on the Union market until 31 December 2024 and, if they have already been placed on the market before that date, continue to be made available on the Union market until 31 October 2025.

El SCCS adoptó el 24-25 de octubre de 2022 su asesoramiento científico final sobre la seguridad del triclocarbán y el triclosán, evaluados por sus posibles propiedades de disrupción endocrina. Concluye que el triclocarbán es seguro como conservante hasta 0,2% en productos de aplicación dérmica y hasta 1,5% en productos rinse-off, pero no es seguro al 0,2% en enjuague bucal ni en pasta dentífrica para menores de 6 años. Para el triclosán, el uso como conservante conforme a la entrada 25 del Anexo V se considera seguro salvo en lociones corporales; en pasta dentífrica (0,3%) no es seguro en combinación para menores de 3 años, y en enjuague bucal (0,2%) no es seguro en combinación para adultos ni, incluso individualmente, para niños y adolescentes. La evaluación no cubre la exposición de bebés a través de toallitas ni el uso conjunto de ambas sustancias en un mismo producto.
