Use of Artificial Intelligence

How BD-API uses artificial intelligence, which content is produced with AI assistance, and which information comes directly from official sources without any model involvement.

The regulatory data distributed by BD-API —snapshots, SQL patches, changelogs, and references to the CosIng annexes— is a faithful reflection of the official European Commission sources and is NOT generated by artificial intelligence. AI is used only to assist analysis and the drafting of editorial content, always under human review.

Where we use AI

BD-API uses artificial intelligence models (Claude, by Anthropic) for two tasks: (a) to assist the analysis and impact classification of European Commission regulatory publications within the monitoring service; and (b) to assist the drafting of editorial content for the blog and the informational pages of this website.

Human review and editorial responsibility

All AI-assisted editorial content is reviewed, verified, and approved by a person before publication, cross-checked against the relevant official sources (EUR-Lex, CosIng, European Commission). BD-API holds editorial responsibility for the content published.

AI-generated visual content

Where an image on this website has been generated or substantially edited with artificial intelligence, it is identified as such. Images that reproduce official sources (labels, regulatory marks) are used for informational purposes.

Regulatory data is not AI-generated

The CosIng database, annexes, restrictions, CAS/EC numbers, and incremental patches distributed by the service are obtained and processed directly from the official European Commission files. They are not inferred, drafted, or completed by a language model. The AI analysis accompanying an alert is an informational complement, never the source of the data itself.

Reference framework

This policy aligns with the transparency obligations of Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act) and with the European Commission's Code of Practice on AI-generated content, whose obligations become applicable from 2 August 2026.
